New Interim Director Hired for Weld County Bright Futures Grant Program

GREELEY, COLO. (September 26, 2017) – Upstate Colorado Economic Development and the Bright Futures Board of Directors have appointed Amy Tallent as Interim Director of the Weld County Bright Futures Grant program. As Interim Director, Tallent will lead operational and communication functions for the program.

“The Board is extremely pleased to have Amy join the team,” said Dale Hall, Bright Futures Board President. “We are confident in her ability to lead Bright Future’s mission and feel that her addition will round out the team that we have created.”

Tallent is Founder and Principal of The Tallent Company. Over the past ten years she has worked with Towns and Cities, special districts, political leaders, among others, specializing in effective communication and strategic organization for large and small companies.

Tallent and the Board will work under the management of Upstate Colorado Economic Development in a new location, 822 7th Street, Suite 215 in Greeley. Upstate Colorado will provide the Bright Futures program operational support and help guide grant recipients on how to develop the skills potential employers in Weld County are looking for as they fill positions.

Started with the Class of 2016, the Bright Futures program provides tuition assistance for Weld County residents who are high school graduates, GED recipients and honorably discharged U.S. veterans. The program provides recipients with a stipend to attend a secondary education institution.

“This workforce stipend program has already supported thousands of Weld County students entering college and trade schools,” said Tallent.  “Our immediate goals for the organization will be focused on creating program sustainability and efficient communication to donors and participants.”
