Born and raised in Greeley, Owen Spooner attended Frontier Academy and UNC and now works on the implementation team at Connecting Point—a locally owned IT services provider.
Bright Futures helped Owen with one of his goals after high school. “A goal of mine was to get out of school debt-free, and Bright Futures helped a ton,” he said. “It took a good chunk out of my tuition.”
While Owen was open to going wherever he could find the right opportunity after graduating with a degree in Business Administration, an internship at Connecting Point during college has turned into a rewarding job for him. “My favorite part of my job is solving problems and helping people. It’s pretty satisfying,” he said.
His job with Connecting Point has also allowed him to stay in his hometown community, close to family, and to save for the future. “Graduating debt free and being home is a really good fit for this season of life.”
From a Frontier Wolverine to a UNC Bear to a full-time IT employee in his hometown of Greeley, Owen Spooner is just one example of a successful Bright Futures alum who is a vital part of the Weld County workforce.
