Appeals Process

If you have special circumstances that caused you to miss the May 15 application deadline, Bright Futures has an appeals process that you may follow.

These situations are generally NOT considered to be special circumstances:

• Forgetting or not knowing the deadline day or time or the annual requirements.
• Missing the May 15 deadline due to technical difficulties you are having on May 15.
• Starting the FAFSA too close to the May 15 deadline and not receiving a final FAFSA Submission Summary (previously called Student Aid Report) by May 15.
• Not receiving (and/or reviewing) email communications from Bright Futures. The student portal specifically requests that you add administrator@grantinterface.com to your list of accepted senders to avoid missing emails.

To file an appeal, email Bright Futures at hello@brightfuturesco.com and an appeal form will be assigned to your student portal.
