Bright Futures offers money to help pay for college or career training just for living in Weld County while you’re in high school. There are no academic requirements to apply initially, but after your first year, you must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. There are no income requirements or loans to pay back.
Just follow these instructions if you are a first-time applicant or a Bright Futures student applying for another year.
The deadline to complete the application or renewal process is May 15 at 5:00 each year. If you miss the May 15 deadline for any reason, Bright Futures has a second application deadline on November 1 at 5:00 p.m. The application for the November 1 deadline will open on October 1. The November application will only be eligible for awards during the spring/summer semesters of the current school year.
Students that have applied and been accepted for Bright Futures funding through the May 15 application deadline DO NOT NEED TO REAPPLY under the November 1 deadline.
Provide an unofficial transcript at the end of each semester.
All Bright Futures award recipients must attend a college, trade school, or training program within Colorado or its adjoining states (Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Wyoming).
