An accident in fifth grade changed Windsor resident Mia Baatz’s life and inspired her to pursue a career in occupational therapy.
“I’ve wanted to be an occupational therapist since my accident,” Baatz said. “I felt that some of the people who worked with me could have been more patient and kind.”
After graduating from Windsor High School in 2026, Baatz enrolled at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, where she studies fitness and wellness promotion and occupational therapy.
“Bright Futures has given me this opportunity to follow my dream,” Baatz said. “College is extra expensive and Bright Futures helped me go where I wanted to go and study what I want to study.”
Bright Futures is available to eligible Weld County students. To learn more, watch the informational video at brightfuturesco.com/about/.
